A lucky Powerball player in California has won the massive $527 million jackpot, marking the second time the grand prize has been claimed in 2025. The winning ticket, sold at a 7-Eleven in Anaheim, matched all six numbers: 7, 11, 21, 53, 61, and the red Powerball 2. The winner, who remains unidentified, now faces a choice between receiving the full jackpot in annual payments or a lump sum of $243.8 million. Employees at the store were overjoyed upon learning the news, with one exclaiming, “My god, we got the jackpot!” The store will also receive a $1 million retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Saturday’s win is the largest Powerball jackpot awarded this year, following a $328.5 million win in January by Abbas Shafii of Oregon. Additionally, five players from Ohio, Oregon, Texas, and Georgia matched the five white ball numbers, earning $1 million each. In recent years, Powerball has seen record-breaking wins, including the historic $2.04 billion jackpot claimed by California’s Edwin Castro in 2022. While the latest winner has yet to come forward, this marks another life-changing moment in Powerball history.
