Federal worker union presidents delivered fiery speeches at a Washington, D.C., protest today, slamming President Donald Trump’s policies as an “all-out assault” on public servants and their rights.
“The Trump administration is destroying public services – and calling it ‘efficiency’ is a cruel joke,” said Randy Erwin, president of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE). “They’re doing the opposite.”
The protest comes as a coalition of unions, including the NFFE and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), filed a lawsuit this week to challenge the Trump administration’s move to strip hundreds of thousands of federal workers of their collective bargaining rights. Erwin called it “the worst attack on labor rights we’ve ever seen.”

AFGE President Everett Kelley rallied the crowd with a defiant message: “They thought we’d roll over, but union members and veterans don’t back down. We won’t be silenced. We’ll keep fighting hands off our unions!”
