Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly flown to the United States, with his plane avoiding the airspace of several countries that could enforce an arrest warrant against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

According to Israeli media, Netanyahu’s plane departed from Budapest, Hungary, and landed in Washington on Sunday, choosing a flight path around 400 kilometers longer than usual.

The plane flew over Croatia, Italy and France, and avoided the airspace of Ireland, Iceland and the Netherlands, due to concerns these countries might act on the ICC warrant if an emergency landing became necessary.
