Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a statement following the shooting at Florida State University, expressing support for the university community and confirming a coordinated law enforcement response.

“Our prayers are with our FSU family and state law enforcement is actively responding,” DeSantis said in a post on X.

Florida Attorney General James Uthemeir also confirmed his office’s involvement, saying they are “responding to an active shooter situation on the FSU campus.” Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement noted that it is “actively engaged in the incident” as developments continue.
