Democrats are pressing four Republican House members in contested districts to oppose President Donald Trump’s tax cuts and spending package. The campaign, coordinated by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), includes Reps. Don Bacon (NE), Tom Barrett (MI), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA), and Mike Lawler (NY). According to CNN
Bacon, Fitzpatrick, and Lawler each represent districts that voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
The new Democratic initiative includes organizing “People’s Town Halls” in these districts later this month and mobilizing community activists to contact lawmakers through online campaigns, phone calls, and emails.
The push comes amid a broader Democratic effort to defend Medicaid, which could face cuts under Trump’s economic agenda. The DNC launched a “Fight to Save Medicaid” organizing drive throughout May,
