Trump Warns Taliban that ‘bad things’ will happen if U.S. does not regain control of Bagram Airbase.

Donald Trump has warned that “bad things” will happen to the Taliban if the United States does not regain control of Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the facility should be returned to “those that built it, the United States of America,” and claimed efforts were underway to reclaim the site.
He described the base as strategically important, citing its proximity to Chinese nuclear development areas.
Bagram Airbase has been under Taliban control since the U.S. withdrawal in 2021.
Taliban officials have dismissed the idea of handing it back, saying Afghanistan’s sovereignty must be respected and pointing to prior agreements that barred foreign bases.
Security analysts say any attempt to retake Bagram would be difficult and could resemble a new military intervention.
They warn such a move would require significant troop deployments and risk straining diplomatic relations with regional powers.
