U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran is “totally defeated” and wants to negotiate with Washington following joint U.S., Israeli military operations against the country.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the United States military had achieved major success in its campaign against Iran. “The Fake News Media hates to report how well the United States Military has done against Iran, which is totally defeated and wants a deal, but not a deal that I would accept!” Trump wrote.

Trump also said U.S. forces recently carried out what he described as “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East,” targeting military sites on Kharg Island, a key Iranian energy hub. He said the strikes destroyed Iranian military targets while avoiding damage to oil infrastructure.
The remarks come as tensions remain high after Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered the Strait of Hormuz to remain closed, disrupting a shipping route used for about 20% of global oil exports and pushing energy prices higher. Iran has also threatened retaliation against regional sites linked to U.S. operations.
Trump said the conflict could end soon but indicated it would continue until U.S. objectives are met.
