Former Gettysburg, Pennsylvania mayor Chad-Alan Carr has been arrested on multiple charges related to alleged offenses involving a minor, according to authorities in Adams County.

District Attorney Brian Sinnett announced Carr’s arrest during a press conference with Pennsylvania State Police, saying the former mayor faces several criminal charges including felony counts tied to the alleged recording or distribution of explicit material and a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.

Investigators said the case began after a ChildLine report filed on Feb. 24 alleged that Carr had contacted a teenage boy and engaged in grooming behavior. Court documents state the alleged victim told detectives that communication between the two included online messages and video chats in which explicit conduct was discussed or requested.

Carr, 48, resigned as mayor earlier this month after serving just over two months in office, citing a personal legal matter. A judge set his bail at $100,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20, according to court records.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors review additional evidence related to the allegations.
