BREAKING: Elon Musk-Led Investors Make Stunning $97.4 Billion Bid to Control OpenAI
A group led by Elon Musk has made a bold move to control OpenAI, with Musk’s attorney, Marc Toberoff, confirming on Monday that a $97.4 billion bid was submitted to the company’s board of directors.
This unsolicited offer could disrupt CEO Sam Altman’s plans to transition OpenAI into a for-profit entity. Altman has been spearheading an ambitious $500 billion investment in AI infrastructure under the “Stargate” joint venture, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Elon Musk, who co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but left in 2019, framed the bid as an effort to restore the company’s original mission. “It’s time for OpenAI to return to the open-source, safety-focused force for good it once was,” Musk stated through Toberoff. “We will make sure that happens.”
