Security Incident: Russian Reporter Sneaks Into Oval Office, Gets Removed by White House

Security Incident today Russian Reporter Sneaks Into Oval Office: A journalist from Russia’s TASS news agency was removed from the Oval Office after entering alongside credentialed reporters during a high-stakes meeting between former President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the Daily Mail.
The White House confirmed that the Russian Reporter was not on the approved media list and was promptly escorted out by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
TASS was not on the approved list of media for today’s pool. As soon as it came to the attention of press office staff that he was in the Oval, he was escorted out by the Press Secretary. Russian Reporter He is not on the approved list for the press conference,” the White House stated.
And this Trump administration unusual move, major outlets like Reuters and Associated Press were also denied entry. Reports indicate that the AP has been restricted from the White House press pool since it refused to use the term “Gulf of America,” a name change implemented by Trump via executive order to replace “Gulf of Mexico.”
The White House has the authority to select which media organizations gain access to press briefings and presidential meetings, with the press pool often following the president to various locations to cover official events.
The meeting between Trump and Zelensky quickly turned contentious, with the two leaders clashing over the conditions of a proposed peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Adding to the tension, a significant U.S.-Ukraine mineral agreement was scheduled to be signed later that day but was abruptly halted when Zelensky cut his visit short after the dispute with Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Following the meeting, Trump took to Truth Social and X to share his thoughts:
“We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”
