Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on Sunday that Canadians will head to the polls on April 28 for a federal election.
In a statement, Carney emphasized the need for a strong mandate to address ongoing challenges, saying, “There is more to do to secure Canada… that’s why I’m asking for a strong, positive mandate from my fellow Canadians. I have just requested that the Governor General dissolve parliament and call an election for April 28. She has agreed.”
