Erika Kirk Says She Will Not Push for Death Penalty in Husband’s Case

Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has said she will not personally advocate for the death penalty against Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing her husband.

She explained that her decision is rooted in her Christian faith and personal convictions.

Robinson, 22, who has been charged in Utah County with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and committing a violent offense in the presence of a child.

Prosecutors have announced they will pursue the death penalty if he is convicted.

A judge has issued a protective order barring Robinson from contacting Erika Kirk. He made his first court appearance earlier this month and remains in custody without bail. His next hearing is scheduled for September 29.
