MINNEAPOLIS—Law enforcement agencies searched rural Minnesota Sunday for a gunman who killed a state representative and her husband and wounded a state senator and his wife in politically motivated attacks.

Authorities identified the suspect as Vance Luther Boelter, 57, who remained at large more than 36 hours after the shootings. The FBI offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were fatally shot at their Brooklyn Park home early Saturday morning. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were wounded at their Champlin residence in a separate attack.

Police found a third vehicle belonging to Boelter in Sibley County Sunday morning, approximately 60 miles from the shooting locations. Authorities warned residents to stay vigilant and keep doors locked.

The suspect posed as a police officer to gain entry to both homes, officials said. He wore a latex mask and body armor and drove a vehicle equipped with emergency lights.

Colonel Christina Bogojevic of the Minnesota State Patrol said investigators discovered papers with “No Kings” written on them and a list of lawmakers’ names in the suspect’s car.
