Federal Judge Releases Woman Accused of Threatening Trump

A federal judge has ordered the release of Nathalie Rose Jones, a 50-year-old woman accused of making violent threats against former President Donald Trump. She had been arrested in August after posting messages on social media that included graphic statements directed at Trump.
Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg overturned an earlier detention order and approved her release under strict conditions. Those include GPS monitoring and a psychiatric evaluation. Jones is also required to return to New York to collect her belongings under court supervision.
Prosecutors argued her posts demonstrated intent to carry out the threats, while defense attorneys pointed to her mental health history. The judge said the conditions of release were sufficient to address concerns raised by investigators.
