MLN — 19 JAN 2026: At least 21 people have died and dozens more were injured after two high-speed passenger trains collided in the Córdoba province of southern Spain, officials said Monday as emergency crews continued rescue operations

The crash occurred on Sunday when a high-speed service and another passenger train impacted each other near the town of Adamuz, a local government source said.

Spanish authorities have confirmed the number of fatalities and said the injured include both passengers and crew members from the trains involved.

Rescue workers, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, and several people were airlifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials said the situation remains fluid as search teams work to clear wreckage and account for all riders from both trains.
