Police in Kenya Uasin Gishu Country are investigating a bizarre incident in which a man set up an unauthorized police patrol base in Cherus Centre, Kesses Sub-County. The suspect, Collins Leitich, alias Chepkulei, allegedly painted a building in official police colors,

Creating the illusion of a legitimate security post without approval from the National Police Service (NPS). The fake base went unnoticed for some time until local authorities discovered it, prompting an immediate investigation.

Shocked residents said they had believed the patrol base was a genuine effort to improve security in the area. Officers from Kamuyu Police Post documented the case under OB04/08/03/2025 and launched a probe to determine the suspect’s motives.
