MLN — 11 JAN 2026: Newly released video footage shows the moments leading up to the fatal shooting of Renee Good by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minneapolis, according to surveillance and cellphone videos reviewed by news outlets.
The footage shows Good’s SUV blocking a city street for several minutes before federal agents arrived at the scene.
Surveillance video from a nearby location, first reported by CNN, shows Good’s vehicle positioned sideways in the roadway as federal law enforcement approached. At one point, a person is seen exiting the passenger side of the SUV while Good remains inside the vehicle until officers reach her.
Cellphone video later shared by Alpha News captures the exchange between Good and an ICE agent as he walks around the front and passenger side of the SUV. In the recording, Good is heard calmly speaking to the agent, while her wife,
Rebecca Good, addresses the officer from inside the vehicle. Moments later, her wife is heard urging Good to drive as additional officers move closer and instruct her to exit the SUV.
Federal officials said the vehicle then moved forward toward one agent, prompting gunfire. Vice President JD Vance defended the officer’s actions, saying the video shows the agent’s life was endangered.
Speaking Thursday, Vance said he was saddened by Good’s d-ath but described the incident as “a tragedy of her own making,” adding that federal officers must be protected while carrying out their duties.
