The National Archives has unveiled a dedicated webpage to host declassified documents on President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, advancing transparency in line with an executive order from former President Donald Trump.
The National Archives announced the launch of a dedicated webpage to serve as a central hub for previously released and future declassified records from the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection
The webpage was established following Executive Order 14176, titled “Declassification of Records Concerning the Assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”
Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna revealed on social media that all declassified JFK assassination documents will be accessible on the new National Archives webpage as they are released. She urged the public to bookmark the site and praised the agency for its swift action. Luna also noted that she, along with the House Oversight Committee and Rep. Eli Crane, will meet with Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to discuss the release timeline.
President Trump signed the order on January 23, 2025, as part of a broader initiative to enhance transparency regarding historic political assassinations.
The JFK Assassination Collection holds over six million pages of records, including photos, videos, audio recordings, and artifacts. The majority of these materials have already been declassified and are available to the public online or at the National Archives facility in College Park, Maryland.
