The woman captured on video punching pro-life activist Savannah Craven during a street interview in Harlem has apologized but insists Craven’s “antagonistic” behavior triggered the violence.
Brianna Rivers, who has been identified as the attacker, admitted the mistake in a Facebook post according to NY Post:
“I apologize to Savannah, but I won’t let her push a one-sided narrative. Violence is wrong, but so is provoking people and hiding the truth.”
The confrontation began as Savannah Craven interviewed Brianna Rivers about Planned Parenthood, and abortion,
Women who get abortions are killing babies.” Then Brianna Rivers struck Craven in the face.
Brianna Rivers accused Craven of editing footage to omit prior “relentless antagonism,” demanding full video release:
“I will not let this woman’s actions tarnish my reputation. Anyone who knows me knows how respectful I am, I don’t even litter. There’s no way you’d believe I’m out here punching people just for having a different point of view,” Rivers said.
Craven later shared photos of her injuries on Instagram, showing a bloodied face, and wrote, “I was just assaulted in Harlem interviewing people on the street. In cop car. Heading to hospital. Updates soon. ABORTION SUPPORTERS ARE VIOLENT!”
According to the New York Post, Craven is now suffering from a black eye, two stitches above her eyebrow, and facial pain as a result of that attack.
