President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting at Florida State University, as he told reporters in the White House on Thursday
“I’ve been briefed on the Florida State University, Tallahassee, active shooting. I guess it’s an active shooter, fully briefed as to where we are right now. It’s a shame. Horrible thing, horrible that things like this take place, and we’ll have more to say about it later,” President Trump said..
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that the administration is actively monitoring the situation. According to CNN
“The president has been briefed on the shooting at Florida State University, and the White House is actively monitoring the situation,” Karoline Leavitt said.
A suspect is in custody following Thursday’s shooting at Florida State University, according to two law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
Law enforcement officials say the individual taken into custody following the shooting at Florida State University was carrying a handgun at the time of the arrest.
Authorities also discovered a shotgun inside the university’s student union and found an additional firearm in the suspect’s vehicle, according to CNN
