President Trump has vowed to classify them as domestic terrorism. According to Reuters, the attacks have escalated in recent months, with multiple incidents of vandalism, arson, and gunfire targeting Tesla locations across the country.
President Trump has condemned the violence, stating that those responsible “are going to go through hell” once caught.
The attacks have been linked to opposition against Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has led efforts to reduce government spending through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In Salem, Oregon, one dealership was firebombed in January and later targeted again with gunfire.
A trans-identified male has been arrested in connection with the incidents. In Colorado, another Tesla dealership was repeatedly vandalized, with explosives found at the scene in one attack.
President Trump, after test-driving a Tesla at the White House, reaffirmed his stance,
“When you hurt an American company that provides thousands of jobs, you’re going to face serious consequences.” Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the attacks, and several suspects have already been identified.
