Hundreds gathered and Al Green Joins in front of a Dallas cathedral Sunday ahead of a major pro-immigration march, one of the largest demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s administration during his second term. Organized by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the march is set to span over a mile through downtown Dallas, ending at City Hall. Protesters were encouraged to wear white for unity and carry American flags.
Ahead of the march, Rep. Al Green joined demonstrators in singing Spanish-language folk songs, reinforcing his vocal opposition to Trump’s policies. Green, who was recently removed from Congress for interrupting the president’s address, has become a symbol of progressive resistance. Organizers aim to draw over 10,000 protesters but acknowledge that fear of government retaliation may deter some, especially those still working toward citizenship.
