Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has left the House Freedom Caucus after clashing with members over whether the House should allow proxy voting for new parents. Luna, a strong Trump ally, has been pushing for a rules change to permit proxy voting, using a discharge petition to force the issue.
However, many in the Freedom Caucus, along with Speaker Mike Johnson, have opposed the move, calling it unconstitutional.
