President Donald Trump said that U.S. forces struck another vessel off the coast of Venezuela accused of trafficking narcotics, calling it part of a broader campaign against cartels.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the strike as he Postedon X, stating that four people aboard the vessel—described as “narco-terrorists”—were killed, and no U.S. forces were harmed.

The administration claims the boat was loaded with drugs capable of killing tens of thousands and posed a threat as it neared U.S. territorial waters.

The operation is part of a series of maritime strikes in recent weeks, following Trump’s declaration that the U.S. is now in a “non-international armed conflict” with drug cartels.

The strikes have drawn sharp criticism from international observers and Latin American governments, who argue they bypass legal norms and raise sovereignty concerns. Russia also condemned the attack, joining Venezuela in decrying what it called “aggression at sea.”

A boat loaded with enough drugs to kill 25 TO 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE was stopped early this morning,” Trump said in a social media post describing the operation.

While the U.S. asserts these strikes will choke cartel routes, the legality and long-term impact of using lethal force in maritime counter-narcotics efforts will likely spur judicial and diplomatic challenges.
