Trump Says Ukraine Can Win Back All Territory With NATO and EU Support

President Donald Trump has declared that Ukraine has the ability to regain all of its lost territory with support from NATO and the European Union, citing Russia’s growing economic problems and the resilience of Ukraine’s armed forces.
Trump said on truth social statement that after reviewing the military and economic situation, he believed that Ukraine had the ability to restore its original borders.
He argued that Russia’s prolonged war has exposed deep vulnerabilities in its economy and military strength.
After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia military and economic situation, and after seeing the economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and win all of Ukraine back in its original form,” Trump said.
He added that with patience, European financing, and NATO assistance, returning to the pre-war borders “is very much an option.
Trump criticized Russia’s performance in the conflict, saying Moscow had been “futilely” fighting for more than three years in a war that “should have taken real military power in less than a week to win.” He described Russia as increasingly looking like a “paper tiger” in the eyes of the world.
President Trump also highlighted the situation in Russia, citing fuel shortages, long lines at gas stations, and the growing burden of a war economy that has devoted much of the country’s resources to the military campaign.
He argued that as ordinary Russians recognize the reality of the conflict, pressure on President Vladimir Putin’s government will intensify.
Trump praised Ukraine’s determination, saying the country has “great spirit” and is “only getting better” as the war continues. He suggested that beyond reclaiming its full territory, Ukraine may even be able to push further if conditions continue to weaken Moscow’s position.
Putin and Russia are in big economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act,” Trump said. At the same time, he added that he wished both countries well, stressing that the United States would continue to provide weapons to NATO for distribution as the alliance sees fit.
The remarks represent one of Trump’s strongest endorsements yet of Ukraine’s potential for full territorial recovery. They also mark a change in tone from earlier comments suggesting Kyiv might need to accept concessions.
His latest remarks come as Ukraine presses for more Western support and as NATO countries debate how to continue long-term aid.
