MLN -22 JAN 2026: Several countries have agreed to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Board of Peace, while a number of European nations have declined participation and others remain undecided, according to information compiled by The Associated Press.
Chaired by Trump, the board was initially conceived as a limited group of leaders overseeing the Gaza ceasefire. The initiative has since expanded significantly, with invitations sent to dozens of countries and the White House signaling the board could take on a broader conflict-mediation role.
A White House official said about 30 countries were expected to participate, though roughly 50 invitations have been issued. Responses continue to arrive as leaders meet during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
